On October 29 and 30, Baha’is throughout the world will celebrate what they call the Twin Holy Birthdays.

This year’s celebrations are especially dear to the hearts of Baha’is as October 29 marks the 200th anniversary of the Birth of the Báb.

A day later, the Baha’is will celebrate the birth of Bahá’u’lláh, the Founder of their Faith, Whom they regard as God’s Messenger for this era.

Baha’is in St. John’s will gather for a small intimate celebration of both Holy Days on Oct. 29. In the Baha’i calendar, a new day begins at sunset. The celebration of the Birth of the Báb will begin before sunset on Oct. 29; the celebration of the Birth of Bahá’u’lláh will take place after sunset on the same day.

A public celebration of the Bicentennial will take place 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Signal Hill campus of Memorial University.
