Join us as we celebrate the unity of our faith – and the unity of all faiths.
The word ‘covenant’ means “a solemn agreement to act together in harmony.”
Every year in late November, Bahá’ís celebrate their own sacred agreement with Bahá’u’lláh, the Prophet-Founder of their Faith, to act in harmony and thereby offer an example of unity to the world.
Specifically, the Day of the Covenant celebrates the appointment of Abdu’l-Baha as the centre of Bahá’u’lláh’s Covenant. Bahá’ís honour this sacred agreement by remaining loyal to an unbroken line of guidance that began with Abdu’l-Baha, continued with his grandson Shoghi Effendi and remains intact today with the elected Universal House of Justice.
Please join us on Saturday as we recognize and celebrate the healing power of unity. We will mark the Day of the Covenant with a public reception at the Network Cafe, 6 East Drive, in St. John’s at 2 p.m.
We will share prayers and readings, a short children’s play, music, and excerpts from the film “Light to the World.” There will also be a brief presentation on the Covenant and how it supports personal growth and community life. And of course refreshments.
Come. Bring your friends. Bring your family. Bring your acquaintances. And have a good time.
